Endpoint Services

Endpoint Services (EPS) provides the opportunity to reduce operational costs for supporting campus desktop, laptop, and mobile computing devices. It provides secure updates, patch management, logging, inventory maintenance, and overall quick remediation abilities for IT Professionals. Endpoint Services solutions include highly automated and integrated tools to significantly reduce the effort required to manage and secure desktop computers.


Endpoint Services focuses on reducing the cost and complexity of managing networked desktop, mobile, and server computing platforms. These are the currently systems at the University of Illinois, Technology Services for Endpoint Services: IBM BigFix, also known as IBM Endpoint Management (IEM), MalwareBytes (MBAM), Windows Server Update Services (WSUS), Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM), Munki/MunkiReports and AirWatch/Workspace One (MDM). EPM functionalities include, but are not limited to: hardware asset management, application and patch management, software updates, power management, remote functionality, software distribution, and OS deployments.

The services listed are provided by the University of Illinois Endpoint Services Group. During the Fall of 2018, some of these services will begin being charged for and others will be offered at no cost; however, there may be costs in the future. Please see this KB article for cost details.
